New Residential Retreat

“Mountain Zen”

Located in the Vail Valley, the design concept for this vacation home embraces the peaceful surrounding of the mountains with clean contemporary framed views. Situated on 35 acres, this secluded mountain retreat allows for a connection with the outdoors throughout the entire home. Built as a series of functional “pods” connected by hallway “bridges”, guests are drawn together in the living, dining and open kitchen pod with separately situated private bedroom areas. A stair tower connects each level with the top-level loft office having spectacular views of the Gore Range. Providing vistas into wildlife and spectacular sunrises, this home embodies a place for retreating, relaxing and rejuvenating.

Location: Colorado

Environment — Locally sourced timber and stone was used throughout the home; Large boulders found during excavation create entry retaining walls; High efficiency windows and high R-value of insulation in walls and roof.
