Done Rowe

Don is an inquisitive architect, enthusiastic cyclist, gifted ballroom dancer, food connoisseur and music enthusiast.

With over 35 years of strategic and tactical project management, skilled design and technical experience, he has been a critical contributor to our design team for more than a decade. Known for his innate ability to design, detail, draw and draft anything, he focuses on enhancing architectural practice by facing the transformative realities of new technologies, social ethics, materiality and sustainability.

A former Navy Veteran, he has worked on over 200 projects in the Twin Cities through his career which have included historic preservation, cultural, civic and education institutions, multi and single housing, social service care facilities, industrial and commercial office and retail.  His path to architecture started out in his family’s millwork business where he learned the carpentry trade and honed his immaculate drafting skills (See photo below).

Beyond architecture, Don enjoys cooking Italian meals and competes in ballroom competitions with a special focus on the tango.

Favorite Comfort Food: I love the many layers of texture and taste found in India, Thai and Chinese food.
Beautiful Place I Have Seen: I’ve seen the inside of several gothic and baroque churches and cathedrals. Awesome. But it doesn’t get any better than the Grand Canyon!
Grateful For: My daughter and my education, especially my graduate work as I was the first in my extended family to get a college education.
